• 分け合う、共有する

  動詞

  物、場所、時間、情報などを、ほかの人と一緒に使ったり持ったりすること。よく share A with B の形で使います。

  She shared her lunch with her brother.

  動詞

  考え、気持ち、ニュース、写真、リンクなどを相手に知らせること。SNSや仕事の場面でもよく使います。

  動詞

  意見、経験、特徴、問題などが、複数の人や物に共通していることを表します。

  The two companies share the same goal.

  その2社は同じ目標を持っている。

  名詞

  全体の中で自分が持つ部分や、受け取るべき部分を表します。

  Everyone paid their share of the bill.

  みんなが自分の分の支払いをした。

使い方

• share A with B の形が基本

  「AをBと共有する／分け合う」は share A with B と言います。日本語の感覚で share to me とは言いません。

• 情報にも物にも使える

  share は食べ物や部屋などの物だけでなく、idea、information、news、photo、link など情報にも自然に使えます。

• noun の share は「部分」や「株」

  名詞では fair share「公平な分け前」、market share「市場占有率」、shares「株式」のように使われます。

よくある間違い

• 誤: Please share the file to me.

  正: Please share the file with me.

  「私と共有する」は share ... with me が自然です。to me はこの意味では普通使いません。

• 誤: Can you share me the link?

  正: Can you share the link with me?

  share は通常、share A with B の語順で使います。人を直接目的語にする share me は不自然です。

• 誤: We shared about the problem.

  正: We talked about the problem.

  share about は日常英語では不自然なことが多いです。「その問題について話した」は talk about が自然です。ただし share concerns about ... のような形は使えます。
