返事をする、答える 質問、メール、呼びかけなどに対して、言葉やメッセージで返すこと。多くの場合 respond to ... の形で使います。
反応する、対応する 出来事、状況、人の行動などに対して、何らかの行動や態度を示すこと。
効果を示す、反応を示す 薬や治療などに対して、体や状態がよい変化を見せること。医療や健康の文脈でよく使います。

使い方

respond to の形が基本
respond は目的語を直接続けるより、respond to a question、respond to an email、respond to a problem のように to を使うのが普通です。

answer / reply との違い
answer は質問に答える意味で最も一般的です。reply は返事をすることに焦点があります。respond はやや広く、返事だけでなく、状況への反応や対応にも使えます。

response は名詞
respond は動詞で「返事をする・反応する」、response は名詞で「返事・反応」です。a quick response のように使います。
