  「〜に反応する」「〜に応じる」と言うときは responsive to customer needs のように to を使うのが自然です。

• responsible と混同しない

  responsive は「反応が早い・対応する」、responsible は「責任がある」です。つづりと音が似ていますが意味は違います。

• ウェブデザインでは専門用語

  responsive design は「画面サイズに応じてレイアウトが変わるデザイン」という意味で、ITやウェブ制作でよく使われます。

よくある間違い

• 誤: The staff is responsible to customer questions.

  正: The staff is responsive to customer questions.

  「質問にすばやく対応する」と言いたい場合は responsible ではなく responsive を使います。responsible は「責任がある」という意味です。

• 誤: The website is responsive for mobile phones.

  正: The website is responsive on mobile phones.

  ウェブサイトがスマホでうまく表示されると言うときは responsive on mobile phones が自然です。「〜に対応する」という意味では responsive to も使いますが、この文では on が自然です。

• 誤: She is responsive for the team.

  正: She is responsive to the team.

  「チームの声や必要に応える」という意味では responsive to を使います。responsive for は一般的ではありません。
