（輪郭・形が）はっきりしない、ぼんやりした 遠かったり、暗かったり、霧があったりして、物の形や輪郭がはっきり見えない状態を表します。
（音・声が）はっきり聞こえない、不明瞭な 声や音が小さすぎたり、遠かったり、ノイズが多かったりして、はっきり聞き取れないことを表します。
（考え・記憶などが）あいまいな、はっきりしない 記憶や考えが具体的でなく、ぼんやりしている状態を表します。

使い方

視覚・聴覚・思考の3場面
indistinct は「見えない」「聞こえない」「考えがあいまい」の3つの場面で使えます。何が indistinct なのか（shape, voice, memory など）と一緒に覚えると使い分けやすいです。

vague との違い
vague は「具体性がない」「ぼんやりした」という意味で考え・計画・返事に多く使い、indistinct は感覚的に「はっきり知覚できない」場面（霧・音・写真など）でよく使います。

blurry / blurred との違い
blurry は特に視覚的に「ピントが合っていない・ぼやけている」を表すカジュアルな語。indistinct はもう少しフォーマルで、視覚以外（音・記憶）にも使えます。
