習慣、慣習 ある人々、地域、社会で長く続いている行動のしかたや決まりごとを表します。個人の小さな習慣よりも、社会や文化の中で共有される習慣に使うことが多いです。
注文製の、特注の 特定の人や目的に合わせて作られたものを表します。custom suit、custom design、custom software のように名詞の前に置いて使います。
得意客、ひいき 店や会社が受ける客の利用・取引を表す古めまたはやや形式的な意味です。主に business、lose custom、attract custom などの表現で使われます。

custom と habit の違い
habit は個人の「癖・習慣」によく使います。custom は地域・社会・文化で共有される「慣習」によく使います。例: my habit of drinking coffee（コーヒーを飲む私の習慣）、a local custom（地域の慣習）。

形容詞の custom は名詞の前で使う
「特注の」という意味の custom は、custom furniture、custom settings、custom software のように名詞の前に置くのが普通です。custom-made も同じ意味でよく使われます。

customs は別の意味に注意
custom の複数形 customs は「慣習」という意味にもなりますが、特に the customs や customs office では「税関」を意味します。文脈で判断しましょう。
