same

同じ、同一の 2つ以上の物・人・状況が、別々ではなく同じもの、または内容や性質が変わらないことを表します。ふつう「the same」の形で使います。
同じ〜 名詞の前に置いて、「同じ本」「同じ場所」のように、他のものと一致していることを表します。多くの場合「the same + 名詞」の形です。
同じもの、同じこと 前に出た物や内容をくり返さずに、「それと同じもの・同じこと」という意味で使います。よく「the same」と言います。

    形容詞

    副詞

    会話で「Same here.」のように使い、「私も同じです」「こちらも同じです」という意味を表します。

使い方

  • ふつう the same の形で使う

    same は単独で名詞を修飾するより、ふつう the same book, the same place, the same idea のように the を付けます。

  • 比較するときは same as

    「〜と同じ」は the same as ... が基本です。カジュアルな会話で same with と聞くこともありますが、学習者は same as を使うと自然です。

  • same と similar の違い

    same は「同一・完全に同じ」に近く、similar は「似ているが同じではない」という意味です。

よくある間違い

  • 誤: We are in same class.

    正: We are in the same class.

    same が名詞 class を修飾するときは、ふつう the same class のように the が必要です。

  • 誤: My bag is same with yours.

    正: My bag is the same as yours.

    「〜と同じ」は the same as を使います。same with はこの文では不自然です。

  • 誤: This two books are same.

    正: These two books are the same.

    two books は複数なので this ではなく these を使い、same には the を付けます。
