resident と residence の違い
resident は「住んでいる人」または「住んでいる」という意味です。residence は「住居、居住」という名詞です。例: a resident of Tokyo（東京の住民）、a place of residence（住所・住居）。

形容詞は名詞の前でよく使う
resident manager（住み込み管理人）、resident engineer（常駐エンジニア）、resident doctor（研修医・常勤の医師）のように、名詞の前に置いて「そこにいる・住んでいる」という意味を加えます。

residēre : 残る、座っている、住む
