• 現代英語では reflection が一般的

  reflexion は reflection の古い、または英国寄りの異綴りとして扱われることが多いです。日常英語や試験・ビジネス文書では reflection を使うほうが安全です。

• 発音は reflection と同じ

  つづりは reflexion でも、発音は reflection と同じ /rɪˈflekʃən/ です。x を強く「クス」と読まないように注意します。

よくある間違い

• 誤: I saw my reflexion in the mirror yesterday.（一般的な文脈で）

  正: I saw my reflection in the mirror yesterday.

  意味は通じますが、現代英語では reflection が標準的です。reflexion は古風・特殊・英国寄りに見えることがあります。

• 誤: The reflexion about the problem was difficult.

  正: Reflecting on the problem was difficult.

  「〜について考えること」を自然に言う場合、名詞 reflexion/reflection よりも “reflect on” を動名詞にした表現が自然なことがあります。
