よくある間違い

• 誤: It was a considerable cold day.

  正: It was a very cold day.

  considerable は通常、cold や beautiful などの普通の形容詞を直接強める副詞としては使いません。「かなり寒い」は very cold や quite cold が自然です。

• 誤: We spent considerable of money.

  正: We spent a considerable amount of money.

  money のような不可算名詞には、a considerable amount of money の形がよく使われます。considerable of money とは言いません。
