使い方

• tour と trip の違い

  trip は「旅行」全般を広く表します。tour は、いくつかの場所を計画的に見て回る旅行や、案内付きの見学という意味が強いです。

• go on a tour / take a tour

  「ツアーに参加する」は go on a tour や take a tour が自然です。場所を言うときは a tour of Kyoto のように of をよく使います。

• 動詞 tour の使い方

  tour Europe は「ヨーロッパを巡る」、tour someone around a place は「人を場所に案内して回る」という意味です。

よくある間違い

• 誤: We went to a tour of London.

  正: We went on a tour of London.

  「ツアーに参加する」は go on a tour が自然です。go to は目的地に行く意味が中心です。

• 誤: I joined a tour around the museum.

  正: I took a tour of the museum.

  博物館などの見学には take a tour of the museum がよく使われます。around も使える場合はありますが、この文では of が自然です。
