使い方

名詞では冠詞が必要なことが多い
「代表者」という意味の representative は数えられる名詞なので、単数では a representative や the representative の形が自然です。例: She is a representative of the company.

representative of と representative for/from
形容詞で「〜を代表している・典型である」と言う時は representative of をよく使います。名詞で「〜の代表者」と言う時は a representative of/from/for the company などが使えます。

business では「担当者」に近いこともある
sales representative や customer service representative は、日本語の「営業担当者」「カスタマーサービス担当者」に近い意味で使われます。必ずしも組織全体のトップの代表ではありません。
