似ていること、類似 人や物が、見た目・性質・雰囲気などで互いに似ていることを表します。ややかたい語で、日常会話では similarity や resemblance もよく使われます。
肖像、似顔絵、姿を写したもの 人の顔や姿に似せて作られた絵・写真・像などを指します。特に、その人らしさがよく出ている場合に使われます。
姿、形、外見 「in the likeness of ...」の形で、「〜の姿で」「〜に似た形で」という意味になります。やや文学的・宗教的・形式ばった表現です。
