意図、目的 何かをしようとする考えや、行動の目的を表す語です。やや硬めで、日常会話では intention や purpose もよく使われます。
故意、犯意 法律や犯罪の文脈で、ある行為をわざと行おうとする意思を指します。
熱心な、集中した 何かに強く注意を向けている状態を表します。多くの場合、intent on doing something または intent on something の形で使います。

使い方

intent と intention の違い
どちらも「意図」を表しますが、intent はやや硬く、目的や法律上の意思を強く表すことがあります。intention は日常的にも広く使われ、「〜するつもり」という意味で自然です。

形容詞の intent は単独よりも、be intent on doing something「〜することに熱心だ・集中している」の形でよく使われます。
よくある間違い
