使い方

• grass はふつう不可算名詞

  地面に生えている草や芝生を全体として言うときは、ふつう a grass とは言わず grass と言います。種類を言うときは grasses と複数形にできます。

• lawn との違い

  grass は植物としての「草・芝」を広く表します。lawn は庭や公園などで短く刈って整えられた「芝生の場所」を表します。

• イギリス英語とアメリカ英語で母音が違う

  grass はイギリス英語では /ɡrɑːs/、アメリカ英語では /ɡræs/ と発音されることが多いです。
