刃、刃先 ナイフや刀などの、物を切るための鋭い部分を指す。

edge と corner の違い
edge は線のような「端・ふち」を指し、corner は2つ以上の端が出会う「角」を指す。たとえば table edge は机のへり、table corner は机の角。

on the edge of と at the edge of
on the edge of は「ふちの上に・ふちに接して」という感じが強く、at the edge of は「端の場所で」という位置を表しやすい。どちらも使える場面は多い。

have an edge の意味
have an edge は「端を持つ」ではなく、比喩的に「有利である」という意味でよく使われる。have an edge over someone で「誰かより有利である」。
よくある間違い

ベッドの端に座る場合は、表面に接しているので on the edge of を使うのが自然。

「他の人より有利」は an edge over others と言う。than ではなく over を使う。
