diagram と graph の違い
diagram は仕組み・構造・関係を説明する図です。graph は主に数値データの変化や比較を示すグラフです。売上の推移なら graph、機械の内部構造なら diagram が自然です。

draw a diagram が自然
図を作るという意味では、英語では draw a diagram や create a diagram がよく使われます。write a diagram は普通は使いません。
