column と row の違い
column は表などの『縦の列』、row は『横の列』です。Excel や表計算ソフトでは、A, B, C で示される縦方向が column、1, 2, 3 で示される横方向が row です。

日本語の「コラム」との違い
日本語の『コラム』は主に短い記事を指しますが、英語の column は『柱』『縦の列』『新聞の連載記事』など幅広い意味があります。
