testify は特に裁判・審問・調査などで使われる正式な語です。日常会話では「say」や「tell」を使う場面が多いです。

内容を文で続けるときは「testify that ...」、話題を言うときは「testify about ...」を使います。例: testify that he was there / testify about the accident。

「testify to 名詞」は「〜を証明する、〜を物語る」という意味です。人だけでなく、物や事実が主語になることもあります。
