    protocolは単なる「ルール」よりも、組織・医療・ITなどで決められた一連の正式な手順という響きがあります。日常会話ではruleやprocedureのほうが自然な場合もあります。

  • ITではカタカナの「プロトコル」とほぼ同じ

    ネットワークやWebの文脈では、HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IPなどのように通信の決まりを指します。

よくある間違い

    英語では「安全手順」は safety protocol と名詞の前に safety を置く形が自然です。
