使い方

• obedient to の形に注意

  「〜に従順な」は obedient to ... と言います。例: obedient to parents（親に従順な）、obedient to the rules（規則に従う）。

• 大人に使うと少し注意が必要

  obedient は子どもやペットには自然に使えますが、大人に使うと「自分の意見がなく従うだけ」という少し否定的な響きになることがあります。

よくある間違い

• 誤: He is obedient for his parents.

  正: He is obedient to his parents.

  obedient の後ろで相手を表すときは for ではなく to を使います。

• 誤: She is an obedient.

  正: She is obedient.

  obedient は形容詞なので、名詞のように an obedient とは言いません。「従順な人」と言いたい場合は an obedient person と言えます。
