リスト、一覧表 物や人、予定などを順番に書いたもの。買う物、すること、名前などを整理するときに使います。
名簿、目録 特定の目的のために集めた名前や項目の一覧。参加者名簿、連絡先一覧、商品目録などに使います。
一覧にする、書き出す 複数の物や情報を、リストの形で書くこと。

使い方

「リストに載っている」は on the list
英語では「リストの中に」ではなく、普通は on the list と言います。名前や項目が一覧表に載っているイメージです。

a list of + 複数名詞 が基本
「〜のリスト」は a list of names, a list of questions, a list of books のように of を使います。

動詞 list は「順に書く」または「掲載する」
Please list your skills. は「スキルを書き出してください」、The website lists the price. は「そのサイトは価格を掲載している」という意味です。
よくある間違い

誤: My name is in the list.
正: My name is on the list.
名簿や一覧に名前が載っている場合は、普通 on the list と言います。

誤: I made a list to buy.
正: I made a shopping list.
「買い物リスト」は shopping list が自然です。to buy を使うなら a list of things to buy と言えます。

誤: Please write a list the problems.
正: Please list the problems.
list は動詞として直接目的語を取れます。「問題を書き出してください」は list the problems が自然です。

覚え方
