• radiusとの違い

  diameter は「直径」で、円の端から中心を通って反対側の端までの長さです。radius は「半径」で、中心から端までの長さです。直径は半径の2倍です。

  サイズを言うときは、名詞の後に a diameter of 数字 を置く形が自然です。例: a pipe with a diameter of 5 cm（直径5センチのパイプ）。

よくある間違い

• 誤: The diameter is from the center to the edge.

  正: The radius is from the center to the edge.

  中心から端までの長さは diameter ではなく radius（半径）です。diameter は端から端までです。
