英連邦、コモンウェルス the Commonwealth または the Commonwealth of Nations と言うと、イギリスと歴史的につながりのある国々の国際的な集まりを指します。
共和国、自治政治体 王や女王ではなく、市民の利益を中心に運営される政治体や自治組織を指すことがあります。アメリカの一部の州の正式名称にも使われます。
