予定の中止によく使う

call off は event, meeting, game, trip など、予定されていたことを中止する意味でよく使います。
目的語の位置

call off the meeting と call the meeting off はどちらも可能です。it などの代名詞は call it off のように間に置きます。

よくある間違い

正: The game was called off.

『中止される』は call off を使います。
誤: They called off it.

正: They called it off.

目的語が it のときは call と off の間に置きます。
