陸へ、岸へ 船や海・湖などから、陸地や岸のほうへ移動することを表します。
陸に、岸に 海上や船の上ではなく、陸地や岸にいる状態を表します。
岸に打ち上げられて 物や海の生き物などが、波によって岸へ運ばれるときによく使います。特に wash ashore の形が自然です。

動きにも状態にも使える
ashore は go ashore のように「陸へ行く」という動きにも、be ashore のように「陸にいる」という状態にも使えます。

to を付けない
ashore 自体に「岸へ・陸へ」という方向の意味があるため、通常 go to ashore とは言いません。正しくは go ashore です。

shore は名詞で「岸・海岸」です。ashore は副詞で「岸へ・岸に」という意味なので、動詞の後に置いて動きや状態を説明します。
