• goalとの違い

  target は具体的な数字・期限・対象を含むことが多く、「狙う点」に焦点があります。goal はより広く「達成したい目的」を表します。例: sales target は販売数などの具体的目標、life goal は人生の大きな目標。

• 動詞 target の使い方

  target は他動詞なので、直後に対象を置きます。受け身では be targeted at や be targeted by もよく使います。例: The ad targets teenagers. / The ad is targeted at teenagers.

よくある間違い

• 誤: My target is pass the exam.

  正: My target is to pass the exam.

  target の後ろで「〜することが目標」と言うときは、to不定詞を使うのが自然です。

  動詞 target は直接目的語を取るため、通常 targets to students とは言いません。
