〜より数が多い、〜を数で上回る 人や物の数が、別のグループより多いことを表します。目的語を直接続けて使います。
数で劣勢にする、数で圧倒する 特に競争、戦い、議論などで、一方の人数が相手より多くて有利な状態を表します。受け身の be outnumbered で「数で負けている」とよく言います。

outnumber は他動詞なので、目的語をそのまま続けます。Japanese learners may want to say “outnumber than,” but the natural form is “A outnumbers B.”

「こちらの人数が相手より少ない」と言いたいときは “We were outnumbered.” のように使います。by を使うと、誰に数で負けているかを示せます。
