関心や方針を〜に向ける 計画・授業・活動などを、ある目的や対象に合うように作る・向けること。be oriented toward ... の形がよく使われます。

語源
Latin
oriens : 昇るもの、東
Latin の oriens は「昇る」という意味の動詞 oriri から来ており、太陽が昇る方向である「東」を表しました。そこから「東に向ける」「方向を定める」という意味につながりました。
