強調、重点 ある点を特に大事だと示したり、そこに注意を向けたりすること。よく emphasis on ...「〜への重点」という形で使います。

「〜を重視する」は emphasis on ... をよく使います。動詞と一緒に使う場合は put/place emphasis on ... が自然です。

日本語の「アクセント」にも近い
発音でどこを強く読むかを言うとき、emphasis は「強勢」「アクセント」に近い意味になります。ただし英語の accent は地域のなまりや発音の特徴を指すこともあります。

emphasis は名詞です。「強調する」と言いたいときは動詞 emphasize を使います。イギリス英語では emphasise とつづることもあります。
