よくある間違い

• 誤: The weather is disgraceful today.

  正: The weather is terrible today.

  天気が悪いだけなら terrible や awful を使います。disgraceful は道徳的な非難に近い語です。

• 誤: I feel disgraceful because I lost my keys.

  正: I feel embarrassed because I lost my keys.

  鍵をなくして恥ずかしい程度なら embarrassed が自然です。disgraceful は強すぎます。
