大陸、本土 島ではない大きな陸地を指すことがあります。特に British English では the Continent で「ヨーロッパ大陸」を意味することがあります。
排せつをコントロールできる 医学や介護の文脈で、尿や便を自分でコントロールできる状態を表します。日常会話ではあまり使われません。

continent と country の違い
continent は「大陸」のような大きな陸地のまとまりで、country は「国」です。たとえば Africa は continent、Japan は country です。

大陸名は大文字で書く
Asia, Africa, Europe, North America など、具体的な大陸名は固有名詞なので大文字で始めます。continent 自体は普通名詞なので通常は小文字です。
