Celsius

摂氏の、セルシウス度で測った 温度を摂氏の単位で表すときに使います。数字の後ではふつう “degrees Celsius” または “°C” と言います。
摂氏、セルシウス温度目盛り 水が0度で凍り、100度で沸騰することを基準にした温度の目盛りです。多くの国で日常的に使われます。

使い方

  • 数字の後は “degrees Celsius”

    温度を言うときは “20 degrees Celsius” または “20°C” が自然です。“20 Celsius degrees” とは言いません。

  • Celsius は大文字で書く

    Celsius は人名に由来するため、ふつう大文字で始めます。単位記号は “°C” です。

  • Fahrenheit との違い

    Celsius は摂氏、Fahrenheit は華氏です。0°C は32°F、100°C は212°F に当たります。

よくある間違い

    正: It is 25 degrees Celsius today.

    英語では数字の後に “degrees Celsius” を置くのが自然です。
