その結果、結果として 前に述べた出来事や理由が原因となって、次のことが起こったと言うときに使う表現。
〜の結果として as a result of + 名詞・動名詞の形で、何が原因でその結果になったのかをはっきり示す。

前の文を受けて「その結果、〜」と言うときは、As a result, のようにコンマを置くのが自然。

原因を続けたいときは as a result of + 名詞・動名詞を使う。例: as a result of heavy rain「大雨の結果として」。

therefore は少し硬く論理的な響きがあり、as a result は会話や説明文で自然に使いやすい。
