先祖代々の、家系に伝わる 土地、家、習慣、財産などが、何世代にもわたって家族や一族に受け継がれてきたことを表します。
進化上の祖先の、原始的な系統に関する 生物学で、現在の生物につながる昔の生物や特徴について述べるときに使います。
