• ふつうは冠詞を付ける

  特定の空港を指すときは the airport と言うことが多いです。例: go to the airport（空港へ行く）。名前を付ける場合は Narita Airport のように冠詞なしで使うことが多いです。

• 名詞を前から説明する使い方

  airport は airport bus（空港バス）、airport hotel（空港ホテル）、airport security（空港の保安検査）のように、別の名詞の前に置いて『空港の・空港用の』という意味でもよく使われます。

よくある間違い

• 誤: I went to airport.

  正: I went to the airport.

  特定の空港に行ったという意味では、通常 the airport と冠詞を入れます。

• 誤: I waited in the airport for my friend.

  正: I waited at the airport for my friend.

  空港という場所で待つ場合は at the airport が自然です。建物の中を強調したいときは in the airport も可能ですが、一般的には at を使います。
