〜に従って、〜に応じて 規則、計画、条件、状況などに合わせて何かが行われることを表します。ふつう according to の形で使います。
一致した、調和した 考えや行動などが合っていることを表します。ただし現代英語ではこの形容詞用法はまれで、主に文語的です。

according は単独よりも according to として使うのが普通です。「情報源によると」「基準に従って」の2つの意味をまず覚えると使いやすいです。

自分の意見を言うときは、According to me よりも In my opinion や I think を使うのが自然です。According to は、報告書・専門家・ニュースなど外部の情報源を示すときによく使います。

according to the plan と言うこともありますが、「計画どおりに」という決まった表現では according to plan がよく使われます。
