• southwest of の形

  「A is southwest of B」は「AはBの南西にある」という意味です。方角だけを言うときは、通常 of の前に the を入れません。例: Kyoto is southwest of Tokyo.

• 地域名として使うとき

  特定の有名な地域を指すときは The Southwest のように大文字で書くことがあります。一般的に「南西部」と言うだけなら the southwest of the country のように小文字で使います。

• southwest と southwestern
