  busは一般的な「バス」です。minibusはそれより小さく、乗客数が少ないバスを指します。日本語の「マイクロバス」に近い場合もあります。

• 数えられる名詞

  minibusは数えられる名詞なので、1台ならa minibus、複数ならminibusesと言います。

よくある間違い

• 誤: We went there by a minibus.

  正: We went there by minibus.

  交通手段を表すbyの後では、普通は冠詞aを付けずにby minibusと言います。ただし、具体的な1台を指す場合はWe went there in a minibusと言えます。
