使い方

description of が基本
「〜についての説明」は、多くの場合 a description of ... と言います。a description about ... も見かけますが、標準的で自然なのは of です。

describe は動詞、description は名詞
「説明する」は describe、「説明」は description です。文の中で役割が違うので混同しないようにしましょう。

job description は「職務内容」
仕事の場面では job description がよく使われ、「その仕事で何をするかを書いた説明」を意味します。
よくある間違い

正: Please describe the picture.
