使い方

• 否定文で使う

  not ... at all の形で『まったく〜ない』を表します。not と at all が離れていても1つの意味になります。

• 返事としても使う

  Thank you. に対する Not at all. はやや丁寧で、現代会話では You're welcome. や No problem. もよく使われます。

よくある間違い

• 誤: I like it not at all.

  正: I do not like it at all.

  一般動詞の否定文では do not を使い、at all は文末に置くと自然です。

• 誤: I am at all tired.

  正: I am not tired at all.

  『まったく〜ない』は not ... at all の形にします。
