用語集、語句リスト 本、教材、ウェブサイトなどに出てくる専門用語や難しい語を集めて、短い説明を付けた一覧。ふつう本の最後や資料の別ページにある。
特定分野の用語解説集 法律、医療、ITなど、ある分野で使われる語の意味を説明するための小さな辞書のようなもの。普通の辞書より範囲が狭い。

dictionary は多くの一般語を広く説明する「辞書」。glossary は特定の本・資料・分野に出る語をまとめた「用語集」で、範囲が狭いことが多い。

glossary は、難しい語に付ける短い説明を意味する gloss から発展した語。もとの Greek glōssa は「舌」や「言語」を表し、そこから「説明が必要な語」の意味につながった。
