使い方

• 貿易では Incoterms の用語

  貿易での CIF は、国際商業会議所の Incoterms にある条件です。主に海上輸送・内陸水路輸送で使われます。

• CIFでは費用とリスクの移転時点に注意

  CIFでは売り手が目的港までの運賃と保険料を払いますが、貨物のリスクは通常、船に積み込まれた時点で買い手に移ります。『目的港に着くまで売り手が全リスクを負う』という意味ではありません。

• 分野によって意味が変わる略語

  CIFは貿易、結晶学、映像技術などで意味が異なります。文脈からどの意味か判断する必要があります。

よくある間違い

• 誤: The seller has all risk until the goods arrive under CIF.

  正: Under CIF, the seller pays for cost, insurance, and freight, but risk usually transfers when the goods are loaded on the vessel.

  貿易条件のCIFでは、売り手が目的港までの費用を負担しても、リスク移転は通常、船積み時点です。

• 誤: CIF means the buyer pays the freight and insurance.

  正: CIF means the seller pays the freight and insurance to the named destination port.

  CIFでは、運賃と保険料を支払うのは通常売り手です。

• 誤: We use CIF for all kinds of domestic delivery.

  正: We use CIF mainly for international sea or inland waterway transport.
