• 基本的には不可算名詞

• diversity との違い

  diversity は「多様性」全般に使えますが、biodiversity は特に「生物・自然環境の多様性」を表します。人や文化の多様性には diversity を使います。

• high / low と相性がよい

  生物の種類や生態系が豊かな場合は high biodiversity、少ない場合は low biodiversity と言います。

よくある間違い

• 誤: The forest has many biodiversities.

  正: The forest has high biodiversity.

  biodiversity は普通、不可算名詞です。「多くの生物多様性」ではなく high biodiversity「生物多様性が高い」と表します。

  正: We should support diversity among people in our office.
