使い方

• 主語の数に注意

  A along with B が主語の場合、動詞は基本的に A に合わせます。Tom along with his friends is coming. のようになります。

• with より少し追加感がある

  単に一緒という意味だけでなく、追加情報として「...に加えて」と言うときにも使えます。

よくある間違い

• 誤: She came along her friend.

  正: She came along with her friend.

  「...と一緒に」は along with と with が必要です。

• 誤: The teacher along with the students are here.

  正: The teacher along with the students is here.

  主語の中心は The teacher なので、動詞は is にします。
